Nyla won the 50kg title on Sunday at the 2022 U.S. Women’s Nationals Championships en route to being named the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler. 

In Sunday’s best two out of three title match, Valencia downed Nina Pham, an NAIA National Champion from Wayland Baptist, 19-8 and 10-0, to win the title in the U23 division. Amazing performance from a Bulldog student athlete. With this result Nyla will represent USA Wrestling in the world championships in Spain in September.
