Year Round Overview of Program

We highly encourage our student-athletes to keep playing during the off-season. The continued practice and playing time contributes to a better all-around game. As an option many AAU programs offer the opportunity (for a cost) for students to continue playing during the fall, Spring & Summer time periods. Additionally, Sobrato Basketball has summer and fall (pre-season) workouts and activities that help hone skills. As a coaching staff, we are passionate to see our players improve which in turn helps grow our program.

The F/S and Varsity programs at Sobrato expect a high level of commitment and dedication to becoming better student-athletes. So, in order to help parents navigate the High School Basketball Season with other sports activities and family life, here is a typical schedule of our year round program options.

Fall: Preseason (Sept.-Oct.) *OPTIONAL*

We hold open gyms, conditioning on the track and in the weight room and small group (no more than 4 players per coach) skill development. Returning players and students who wish to try out for our teams are encouraged to participate in these important activities.

Winter: Season (Nov. - mid February) *MANDATORY*

Practice is almost every evening league games happening on Wednesday and Fridays. We also participate in 2 pre-season tournaments.

Spring: Off-season (mid Feb-May)

No team activities.

Summer: Summer League (June-mid July) *OPTIONAL*

We have practices 2-3x a week and games 2x a week against good programs which provide great competition. Team concepts and chemistry are developed these summer months.
